Arcade Style Urban Maze Lootathon

***This is an early playtest and not reflective of final product/ this is a forced windowed game***

Gameplay

Moth is an arcade style maze crawler with looting and elements of gambling. In the game the character is dropped into an urban environment and collect as many items as they can and make it to their escape vehicle (An ice cream truck) before demons overwhelm and kill the character.

Players must navigate the environment while choosing to attack or avoid enemies. The moon Icon on the screen alerts players to how many enemies are in the environment. Enemies meander around unless they spot the player, then they pursue and attack. However if enough enemies enter onto the field, a blood moon is triggered. When the blood moon is triggered all enemies know the players location and move into kill/ overwhelm the player. It is in the players interest to reduce the number of enemies or escape the level before this happens. Once a blood moon is triggered it doesn't stop for the rest of that night.

Enemies, if encountered and successful in their attacks will take one ring away from the players health. If the players health reaches 0 its game over. Just like the player the red rings beneath their feet also indicate their health.

Interactable World

In the world of Moth there are many ways to increase your score. While some items can be found by simply walking some items can be trashed to reveal treasures to you. A collider will tell players what items can be destroyed to accomplish this. 

Alternatively a player can break-in to certain buildings. These come with both a risk and reward and can only be attempted once.  If successful the player can add a large score bonus to their level score, or they can walk away empty handed or worse trigger a benefit to the enemies (making them stronger or giving them a shorter spawn time)

Collectable Categories

Some items are more important than others. Players are scavenging and risking their lives to support a community of survivors. Top importance goes to medical, food, power and water supplies. However some value can be found in old world treasures like electronics and cash but they aren't as important as the others. 

Powerups

If a player decides to attack enemies instead of running away and win, the enemies will sometimes drop cosmic ice creams. These ice creams are used at players will and will appear via an icon one can press on the screen.

These are only attained by defeating enemies and can have effects from recovering health, making the enemies afraid of you, killing all enemies on screen, etc. (More are planned for the future but the base 3 is ready to go)
